Comic Con 2019 has descended upon San Diego, California, and with it there are plenty of new movie trailers, and video game reveals. Among the gaming news that arrived from the convention are new items for both the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Black Order and Marvel’s Avengers video game titles.
The Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Black Order game is coming soon, with a huge roster of playable characters. According to a Gamespot report, Marvel also revealed some of the characters that will be added in future updates or through a DLC expansion pass.
Developed by Team Ninja, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a single and multi-player video game experience. It’s said to take inspiration from recent Avengers movies such as Infinity War and Endgame, but also departs from those titles with its material. That’s because it features a wider cast of characters such as the X-Men and Daredevil who were not featured on the big screen or with the Avengers in the MCU.
On August 30, there will be a free update for the new game and that will bring Cyclops and Colossus to the roster. There will also be a DLC pack scheduled to arrive this fall. That will feature the Marvel Knights including Moon Knight, Blade, Morbius, and Punisher.
In addition to that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 news, there was also insight into next year’s Marvel’s Avengers game. In a separate report, Gamespot detailed what developer Crystal Dynamics presented at Comic Con. The developer behind the upcoming Avengers title showed off some update gameplay in a special demo.
The story itself will involve the Avengers fighting different “minions of Taskmaster.” One of the key aspects shown included Black Widow’s solo battle with the supervillain Taskmaster. There were also aspects shown for the co-op gameplay where gamers can create their own unique Avengers roster. That includes being able to customize the appearances of the different heroes such as putting Hulk into Mr. Fixit gear or his Planet Skaar look.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is set for a July 19, 2019 release date. According to IGN, it will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The Marvel Avenger’s game arrives on May 15, 2020. It will be available on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Windows PCs, and new Google Stadia game system.
