One of the big sellers for the holidays this year may be the Nintendo Switch Lite. The handheld gaming console from Nintendo will give gamers more of a portable experience in terms of playing compatible Switch titles. As of Saturday (July 20), it appears there are several retailers with pages at the ready for pre-orders too.
Based on early word from a CNET report, both Amazon and Best Buy have unveiled “pre-order” pages for the new gaming device. The portable device will carry a cost of $200 and officially arrives on September 20. By bookmarking the Amazon and/or Best Buy pre-order pages, customers could avoid the possibility of fast sellouts should the device go that route. Based on the release of previous consoles like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, that’s always a possibility.
The selling point of the Nintendo Switch Lite is its convenient size, weight, and overall portability. It boasts a 5.5-inch screen compared to the bigger Nintendo Switch’s 6.2-inch screen. It’s also lighter in weight, allowing for individuals to carry it around and use it as they might with a mobile device.
Other details for the Switch Lite will include USB-C charging port, headphone jack, and a microSD slot for additional storage. It brings 32GB of on-board storage out of the box. Customers will be able to opt for either gray, yellow, or turquoise when selecting which Switch Lite they want.
Additionally, Nintendo revealed plans to release a special Zacian and Zamazenta edition of the Switch Lite on November 8. That edition is based on the popular Pokemon games. It features a different look with a theme involving two new characters from the game Pokemon Sword and Shield. That Switch title is also set for a November release.
With the holidays on the way, the Nintendo Switch Lite is likely to be popping up on a few wishlists, so having pre-order pages bookmarked now could help beat the rush.
