Bill Barr gave the president a free past when he put his own legal spin on the Mueller report. Bob Mueller let Barr know he didn’t like the way he worded the Cliff Notes-type synopsis of his investigation. Barr claimed Trump didn’t collude with Russia and he didn’t obstruct justice. But now that BuzzFeed got to read parts of the Mueller report that were not originally available, it’s clear Trump had a deal with Russia in 2016. And he did obstruct justice on several occasions especially when he tried to force White House lawyer Don McGahn to fire Mueller.
Bill didn’t comment when Trump released his doctored phone version of his quid pro quo move on Zelensky. Mr. Barr didn’t like it when Mr. Trump told Zelensky to call him if he needed help finding dirt on Joe Biden. Barr got bent out of shape when Trump threw him in the Ukraine pot with Giuliani and his criminal associates. But according to White House aides, Bill and the Trumpster are still buds.
Attorney General Barr is still on the hunt to find dirt on the FBI. Trump claims the FBI and the CIA tried to sabotage his campaign in 2016. Barr hired respected attorney John Durham to check out that particular Trump conspiracy theory. According to Trump, Durham and his investigators have the proof they need to put James Comey and John Brennan behind bars.
The Chinese claim Trump agreed to reduce the tariff on certain products from China in order to make the phase one deal come together. But according to White House sources, Trump didn’t agree to drop tariffs on $360 billion worth of Chinese products. Mr. Trump planned to drop the December tariff increase, but the Chinese want more. The tariff mud in the trade water might delay the meeting between Trump and President Xi, according to several reports.
Jeff Sessions wants his old Alabama Senate seat back even though the Trumpster put him on his loser list. Sessions thinks he can win the election without Trump’s blessing, but not all Republicans want the immigrant and LGBTQ hater back in Washington.
GOP Congressman Jim Jordan claims Sondland follow his own agenda when he told Bill Taylor the president told him he would hold Ukraine’s aid payment until Zelensky screwed Biden. Jordan and other Republicans also want to throw Giuliani and Mulvaney under the Ukraine bus in order to take the impeachment heat off Trump. But other Republicans like Lindsey Graham think Trump Ukraine policy was incoherent and chaotic. Graham thinks Trump didn’t have a solid plan to aid-screw Zelensky.
