Having access to the oilfields has enabled Isis to generate revenue that is used to pay fighters, buy arms, and conduct operations. Denying Isis access to the oilfields will be a way to ensure that they endure defeat. Trump’s intention is for the U.S to possess the oil. He states that the oil is safe, and that they have it already. Erdogan denounced the U.S. partnership with Syrian Kurdish forces even after describing Trump as a great friend. In a meeting, Turkey and the U.S. condemned the Turkish invasion and threatened sanctions if they failed to reverse. U.S officials have described this state as annoying and destabilizing. War crimes committed by the Turkish military have been expressed as a concern by the senior officials. This concern should be debatable since Erdogan is expected to visit Washington soon. The United States has held Ankara responsible.
