However, he has also become the biggest critic of the tech social media giant. Trump uses the platform to talk about certain key issues or to blast his opponents. He has done this ever since the day he was elected. However, his displeasure with Twitter has grown very steadily because of a bias he believes that the company has against conservatives. He has accused Twitter of deleting his followers and making it harder for people to follow him.
According to ABC.net, President Trump met with the CEO of Twitter and several other key people in the company in the Oval Office a few months ago. At the time, he said the meeting went great. However, it would seem that the good will that was generated by that meeting has disappeared. Trump is now suggesting that Twitter and other social media companies like Facebook should face lawsuits because of illegal activity. He also said that he would be in favor of regulating all social media companies. Several years ago, he did not want Twitter to be regulated because he felt it would make it more difficult to get his messages out.
President Trump believes that one of the biggest problems with Twitter is the fact that they do not have any competition whatsoever. They basically have a monopoly when it comes to that specific form of social media. Trump feels that having another company that provides the same service as Twitter would make them shape up and behave differently. A presidential social media summit will happen at the White House. Many of the biggest leaders in the world of social media are expected to show up. However, a large number of these people have also been very critical of President Trump in the past.
President Trump is not the only major politician who has been critical of big tech companies over the past few months. Senator Elizabeth Warren has said that she would be in favor of breaking up all of the big tech companies if she were elected president. She was the first presidential candidate to make such a statement. Warren has said that she believes that many of these companies have become much too big and powerful. Many politicians have been afraid to make statements against big tech because they donate money to Democrats.
