NBA 2K20 game to include six new “Classic Teams”

Basketball enthusiasts often love to debate which superstars and teams are the best of all-time. With the upcoming NBA 2K20 video game, there will be six all-new Classic Teams introduced featuring some great all-time rosters and former stars.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, the new classic teams will feature an array of stars such as LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Tim Duncan, Stephon Marbury, and Kawhi Leonard. NBA 2K20 revealed the teams on their Twitter via new screenshots showing off a pair of players for each of the squads.

There are two championship-winning teams featured amongst the six Classic Teams. The 2015-16 Cleveland Cavaliers featured Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, and Kevin Love winning the title in 2016. The 2013-14 San Antonio Spurs included Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard, and Tim Duncan capturing the 2014 title.

Also announced were the 2013-14 Clippers featuring Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan. All of these stars have since moved on to become leaders on new rosters. Paul now plays in Oklahoma City for the Thunder, while Griffin is a member of the Pistons, and De’Andre Jordan is on the Knicks. The 2009-10 Portland Trail Blazers are part of the six teams. They boasted a starting five that included Andre Miller, Brandon Roy, and LaMarcus Aldridge.

The final two teams are the 2006-07 Washington Wizards and 2002-03 Phoenix Suns. That Wizards team featured former All-Stars Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison. The Suns’ squad had Stephon Marbury, Joe Johnson, Shawn Marion, and Amar’e Stoudemire as a rookie.

These Classic squads in the game will give those gamers playing more options for teams to use. They can be opponents for playing 2019-20 NBA teams, or against other all-time great teams. In addition to the Classic Teams, NBA 2K20 will also feature All-Decade teams dating back to the 1950s. They’ll feature all-time greats such as Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Shaquille O’Neal.

The NBA 2K20 video game officially arrives on September 6, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs. This year’s cover athletes will be new Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis on the standard edition and former Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade on the Legend Edition cover.
