A Woman CEO Has Received A Lot Of Funding In Order To Change The Game When It Comes To Networking

It’s always been a man’s world when it comes to networking. Men often meet at cigar bars, country clubs and golf courses in order to socialize and discuss business with one another. Unfortunately, many women have felt that they don’t have a place to network like men do. However, this is all about to change thanks to one woman. Carolyn Childers, the co-founder of Chief, is looking to make networking more accessible for women. This is what she has done thanks to the massive amount of funding that she’s received.

Chief Is Born
Childers founded Chief in January of 2019. She saw how difficult it can be for women to bust through the glass ceiling and advance their positions in the workplace. Childers thought that others like herself should have places to network so that this can be done more easily. Thanks to Chief, women will now be on more of an equal playing field to their male counterparts. They will have opportunities that they normally wouldn’t have been able to in the past. It’s estimated that less than 6% of CEOs are women. Chief is hoping to change that by helping women network, share their ideas and visions with each other and create opportunities for one another.

$22 Million In Funding
Many others are just as excited about Chief as Childers is, and it shows in the amount of money that investors have brought to the table. Chief raised $22 million in just one round of funding. Despite the fact that they only opened about a year ago, they already have over 2,000 members. These members come from companies like Walmart and Spotify.

Childers’ hope that women will be able to have conversations that they normally wouldn’t be able to by having their own place to meet and network has finally come to fruition. They won’t feel limited because they will no longer have to try to have confidential conversations at their place of work. They will feel empowered and a sense of community with other women. It is expected the Chief will continue to grow and receive more funding that can be used to create more networking spaces for women.
