Mr. Trump went after Joe Mcguire, his national intelligence director when Joe told Adam Schiff, and the intelligence committee, the Russians continue to interfere with U.S. elections. The Russians want to keep Trump in office. And the president lets them do it, according to former National Security Director John Brennan.
Mr. Brennan told the press the country has a full-blown national security crisis on its hands. Mr. Trump continues to put democracy at risk with his decisions, and it’s only a matter of time before the president decides what intelligence he wants to share, and what he wants to hide, according to the New York Times.
The IMF tried to put a positive spin on global economic growth while the coronavirus cripples the Chinese supply chain. Most Chinese factories stayed closed the first two weeks of February, and 30% of the factories remain closed, according to the New York Times. Dallas fed President Bob Kaplan told the press not to expect interest rate cuts in 2020, even though economic growth continues to erode. Kaplan said the economy enjoys moderate growth, but the coronavirus will take a small bite out of that growth by the end of March.
Huawei officials told the press their factories opened when the Chinese New Year ended. Other factories stayed closed, and some remain closed. But Huawei’s decision to open kept the production lines full, so company officials say deliveries and services won’t suffer due to the COVID-19 virus.
The Chinese tech giant got bad news when a judge ruled the lawsuit filed against Congress failed. The judge claimed the U.S. has a right to pick who they want to do business with, so Huawei’s illegal blacklisting claim is dead in the legal water.
Roger Stone will have to serve at least two years behind bars to satisfy his 40-month sentence unless the president pardons him. Mr. Trump said Stone got a raw deal from the Justice Department. The president also said some nasty things about the judge and the prosecutors in the case. Mr. Trump claimed they worked for Mueller during his investigation, so Stone’s conviction is a sham because the Mueller investigation was an illegal witch hunt.
Lindsey Graham told the press he thinks Trump should pardon Roger. Mr. Graham knows his political future depends on Trump winning in November, even though Lindsey trashed Mr. Trump in 2016. Mr. Trump told his Colorado voter base Roger is a great family man, and he deserves exoneration.
