Google I/O developer conference to arrive with new smartphones, tech reveals

One of the biggest names in technology will hold their developer’s conference in California this coming Tuesday. Google could very well unveil some of their latest innovations in technology including smartphones and more.

As reported by Mashable, the Google I/O developer conference will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (1 a.m. ET) on Tuesday, May 6. The latest conference will be at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, and will be live streaming on the Google Developers YouTube channel.

One of the expectations from some individuals is that Google will have the Pixel 3a and 3x XL smartphones at the conference. These could be much more affordable smartphones for the technology company to gain some ground in the market fight against the likes of Samsung and Apple.

In addition to the potential for showing off these new smartphones, there could be more about the new mobile operating system. Back in March, Google released an Android Q beta, so there may be details about the finished OS on Tuesday.

There’s also Google Stadia, which was announced not too long ago. This is Google’s foray into the gaming world. It’s a new game streaming service that has potential but there’s no launch date or price details yet. It’s possible Google will put the new gaming tech as part of the I/O conference or wait until E3 which is next month.

There may be more developments revealed about the new Nest Hub Max. This is a Google smart home device with a 10-inch hi-definition screen and Nest camera built into it. The device is Google’s new answer to Amazon Echo Show which also features a display, camera, and voice interaction. Nest Hub Max will allow for video calls, motion or sound alerts, entertainment, and more.

A few other potential concepts that could get coverage at the I/O conference are Gmail and Google Duplex AI phone. Google has made updates to its popular free email client and is still looking to extend availability to the Duplex AI phone service. There may be more details on these fronts in addition to all of the tech concepts mentioned above.

Time will tell the latest. By Tuesday evening, technology enthusiasts will soon know exactly what Google may have in store for the future of their products and services.
