China Shuffles The Trade Deck And They Deal Trump A Drop The Tariff Card

Mitch McConnell spent a few extra minutes in the John when he heard Matt Biven got his Trump-loving ass-kicked. Voters in Kentucky, a state Trump won by 30 points in 2016, and the state that keeps old Mitch in office knew Biven was Trump-trash, and he had to go.

But Biven doesn’t want to leave office. He won’t concede the election without a court decision. Matt claims there are irregularities in the voting system. He pulled that move right out of the Trump mobster handbook.

McConnell told the press if Trump’s impeachment gets to the trial stage, the Trumpster will get a get out impeachment free card from the Senate. Mitch runs the Senate show so even if the articles of impeachment prove Trump’s a criminal, McConnell will let him go free so he can run for reelection.

Sixty-two percent of Trump’s voter base will wear red hats no matter what he says or does. But the Independents who voted for Trump are ready to jump off the Trumpian ship before it sinks. Those voters know most of Trump’s 2016 campaign promises never materialized. Instead of boosting the economy and balancing trade the opposite happened.

The two percent inflation number and the 3.5 percent unemployment number are enough for the president to declare his economy is running like a fine-tuned sports car. But under the hood lurks a host of issues that show the economy needs help. The Feds don’t really know how to help it before the public realizes Trump’s tariff war opened the door for a recession in 2020.

Most news reports claim the economy is still great. GDP growth is 1.9 percent. That’s well below where it was at the beginning of the year. In 2016, Trump claimed his agenda would produce three percent GDP growth every year. Wall Street economists predict economic growth at the end of December will be 1.1 percent. And consumers finally see the price increases and the stalemate between Trump and President Xi, so consumer confidence continues to erode.

President Xi wants Trump to drop tariffs on $360 million worth of Chinese products before he comes to the states to sign a phase one trade deal. Bob Lighthizer wants to keep the tariffs in place after Xi signs. The Chinese new agency said the first thing Xi wants before he flies to Alaska or Iowa is for the Trumpster to take the December tariffs off the table.
