The Robots and Robotaxis Are Almost Here

It looks like the assembly line of industry will never be the same beginning in 2023. The Tesla auto company is working a humanoid robot prototype to be ready for use next year. The Optimus robot will weigh 125 pounds and stand five feet, eight inches tall and built in Tesla’s brand new Texas gigafactory that just opened in early April. The robot will be able to walk at a speed of 5 miles per hour. The robot will have a computer screen-like face that will show workers important information for developing products.

CEO Elon Musk predicts the humanoid robot will be more expensive than a car, specially a hybrid of electric car.

Musk does not believe that people can fathom how valuable and important the Optimus robot program is . The robot can be used to help build things in the Tesla factories as well as work on software and hardware .

Tesla’s working on a robotaxi. The robotaxi is not expected to have pedals or steering wheels. The robotaxi is expected to be unveiled in 2024. It will cost less for someone to ride in robotaxi than ride a bus. Hundai has a robotaxi coming in 2023. The robotaxis are cars with no drivers. Many companies including Waymo in Phoenix AZ, have been testing the driverless cars.

Hundai claims that robotaxis are safer than any other kind of transportation . The robotaxi has 30 sensors to give it 360 degree of vision. the car comes with camera and radar that cannot be effected by high heat, road construction , or bad weather conditions. Passengers will be able to use the human-machine hardware to be able to interact with the car. Customers will be able to go on several errands if they want to or be directed to go to someone’s house to pick them up for a ride. In addition to interacting with the car, the car will be spacious and comfortable enough or other passengers to socialize or one may simply relax while being taken to their destination. Once these robotaxis are released, it’ll be after many decades of refinement.
