Alex Molinaroli – Technology Leader Specializing In Efficiency

Alex Molinaroli was the president, chairman, and chief executive officer of Johnson Controls International for almost five years when he retired in 2017. He succeeded CEO Stephen Roell who retired after 32 years with the company.

Alex has enjoyed a long successful career with the company. He joined the company in 1983 where he worked in control systems and services, and later in sales and operations at the Johnson Controls’ Building Efficiency business. With every new position in the company, he found ways to improve efficiency and streamline operations.

Alex has been with the company for over thirty years and has held many positions before being elected in 2004 to corporate officer. He also served as the president of the Power Solutions business.

Alex Molinaroli moved through many roles in the company effortlessly. He also took an active role in developing and expanding the sales departments throughout the company and internationally, creating sales management disciplines that worked.

As general manager and vice president for operations in the Middle East and North America, Alex was responsible for the building efficiency aspects of the business. He was dedicated to the process and worked hard to get results.

Alex Molinaroli is also a founding member of the Electrification Coalition. Based in Washington DC, the organization is a non-profit group that promotes clean energy for the transportation industry particularly policy creation, and decision making for plug-in electric cars. They are dedicated to eliminating U.S. dependence on oil through the transportation industry.

Alex is on the board of directors for the National Center for the Arts and Technology. Established in 2005, the organization helps communities to open and run local educational nonprofit organizations. He also serves as a member of the board of regents for the Milwaukee School of Engineering and is a member of the board of directors for Interstate Batteries.

Alex earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of South Carolina, and a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
