Apple’s Decades of Innovation Continues with a New VR Headset

Apple never stops. That statement sums up a major reason why Apple remains such an incredibly successful tech company year after year. Apple consistently works at developing new and cutting-edge products to offer its customers. Recently, word emerged that Apple has plans to release a stunning new virtual reality headset. Credible reports suggest Apple intends to produce a 16K VR headset capable of putting the current makers of VR headsets to shame.

The wireless headset will combine VR and AR technology and, most impressively, plans to feature 8K displays for each individual eye. From a clarity perspective, 8k per orb means incredible visuals. The VR experience may drift closer to reality than virtual thanks to technology this advanced. Again, Apple could truly outshine its competitors with this new headset.

And those competitors include such technology heavy-hitters as Facebook, Microsoft, and Google. Apple definitely remains up to the task of competing with these major companies. Back in the late 1970’s, Apple certainly wasn’t the only company releasing home computers. Today, Apple’s Macbook’s sell tremendously well. Several of its competitors from 1979 have long since gone out of business. Granted, Facebook, Microsoft, and Google won’t exactly fade away considering their own enormous business success stories. Apple, despite being a decades-old technology company, isn’t falling behind in a market filled with new competitors. When it does — as is the case with getting a VR headset to the market — Apple shocks the world by releasing something outright incredible.

Granted, the new VR headset hasn’t hit the market yet. So, it can’t be labeled incredible or mediocre. All the headset can be labeled is anticipated.

Based on report by techcrunch.com about the headset, anticipation levels seem to be rising. Why wouldn’t customers be interested in purchasing a new unit that turns out to be better experience than all the other VR headsets?

Apple likely learned from the mistakes of its past competitors. Unable to compete with Apple and other startups, many established computer companies either lost massive marketshare or outright went bankrupt. Apple long ago realized it must continually grow and innovate in order to survive year after year. Rising up to such a challenge doesn’t always happen. Not every product sells well. Apple has also had its share of flops. As the general health of the company shows, Apple has been much more successful than not.

The new headset hits the market in 2020.
