Apple Is Under Fire For Lackluster iPhone 14 Battery Performance

It’s another year and with that comes the release of updated models of popular technology. The iPhone has seen one such update in 2022 with the release of the brand new iPhone 14; although it has performed well enough in its own right, many people have been left unimpressed.

The most common criticism leveled against the smartphone is that, despite having an almost $800 price tag, it’s largely just a rehash of the previous iPhone model, but has a more advanced camera system installed.

However, a new issue has arisen with the iPhone 14, with Laptop Mag recently running a battery test on the new iPhone and then comparing it to the average battery length of previous versions.

What the outlet found is that, on average, the iPhone 13 lasted more than half an hour with continuous use when compared to the iPhone 14. This discrepancy gets even larger with the iPhone 14 Pro, which lasts a whopping 2 hours less than the iPhone 13.

Although this battery life issue is hardly the worst, since iPhone 14 versions still last around 9 to 10 hours, many users find themselves disappointed with the product.

Many Apple fans were incredibly excited with the release of a brand new iPhone version. After Covid-19 and many of the other problems people have been facing over the past several years, iPhone connoisseurs were positively giddy with excitement.

However, this decreased battery life has not gone unnoticed by the average iPhone users, many of which have turned to social media to vent their frustrations.

Although Apple is hardly a stranger to controversy, much of this comes as a bit of a shock to the company, which has maintained a mostly solid reputation in the industry due to their high levels of quality and significant amounts of innovation.

Unfortunately, the whole battery life debacle, combined with other issues relating to the iPhone 14’s release, such as the lack of new features and reduced storage space, have left the Apple brand in a position where they need to go on damage control.
