BlueStar Startup to Invest $180M for a New Atlanta Production Campus

The company BlueStar Studios was founded by Rich Goldberg, who used to work at companies such as DirecTV and Jaunt. He unveiled details of a plan to build a massive production facility outside Atlanta. The project, which is expected to cost around $180 million, would be located in Forest Park.

Several major films, such as Black Adam and Black Panther: Forever, have been filmed in Atlanta. The facility, which will be called BlueStar Studios Forest Park, is expected to open in phases starting next summer. It will be operated by a subsidiary of the Atlanta-based company, Gala Media Capital.

The facility, which will feature 18 stages, is expected to have 600,000 square feet of office space and production space. It will also have access to two 100-gigabyte fiber lines. According to BlueStar, the facility will be able to support various technical needs, such as virtual production and cloud services.

The facility’s central building is the former Fort Gillem army post headquarters. Several of its buildings are being repurposed as part of the project. The buildings are being preserved.

The city of Forest Park is excited to see the development of BlueStar Studios, which will bring new production capabilities and a significant investment to the area. It will also preserve the area’s history and charm. The owner says they are thrilled to see the company’s commitment to the community and look forward to seeing its impact on the local economy.

Through its partnership with local schools and universities, BlueStar Studios is also looking to establish a filmmaking education destination. The construction of BlueStar Studios in Forest Park, Ga., is expected to begin in the summer of 2023. It will be a 53-acre facility that will serve as a major production hub for Atlanta.

The facility will feature 18 purpose-built stages that can be divided into various sizes ranging from 5,000 square feet to 40,000 square feet. The new fiber lines will allow productions to support various technical needs. The facility’s central building, which is currently occupied by the army post’s headquarters, will serve as the building’s main hub during the project.
